The interior is pretty cute, but that's the most it has going for it. The menu isn't anything special or unique, and the quality of the food is very mid. I had the Egg Bacon and Cheddar sandwich on their jalapeño cheddar bagel. The egg was flat, flavorless, and burnt, and i felt excitement every time i got a bite of bacon -- because there was not enough of it for every bite. The bagel itself was pretty good, but the overall sandwich was dry and bland. Not something I'd pay for again. My brother ordered the French Toast. The toast itself was enjoyable, however the service was Not It. Only upon being served was he informed that they were out of maple syrup, and the fruit that was meant to come with the meal. He was offered a menu so he could order something else and was told the French Toast would be comped. He got the menu, but the waitress never returned to see if he wanted something else, so after 5-10 minutes of waiting, he ate the French Toast, and was then charged for it. Wouldn't have been a big deal had he not been offered solutions and told he would be comped, and i understand that comes out of the waitresses check, but if you offer a service, you shouldnt revoke it without warning. Also not the fault of anyone in particular, but they are short staffed, which severely effects the quality of the service you'll be receiving. If i were you, id just make coffee and toast at home.

Restaurant is beautiful and the outdoor patio is very nice. We had a party of 13 and our servers were very nice and accommodating. I love the fact they use local farms. Most of the party ordered the Farm Breakfast. Our one vegan in the group ordered the black bean burger and she loved it. Although there are vegan options there are no non-pork meat options for breakfast such as turkey, beef or chicken. My son ordered the Salmon burger and it was very good. I ordered chorizo with my farm breakfast. I didn't not like the bacon but my chorizo sausage was EVERYTHING. My gouda grits needed more cheese IMO but overall everything was good.

I had the farm breakfast and turtle latte. Food was decent, but needed some salt. The service was okay, not exceptional. The latte was good, but temp wasn't as warm as I would have liked when I received it. I'd go back and give them a second try. I like that they have a unique variety of beverages, and the French toast looked like it would be really tasty.

I had the avocado toast and added eggs to it. The food was pretty good, the coffee- amazing. Obsessed with the seasonal, “like butta” coffee. The Havana and the rosemary honey lattes are delicious as well. The only thing I didn’t love was the chocolate croissant, it didn’t taste like it was fresh, and there wasn’t much filling in it.

We do generally love this place.. been here 5-6 times over the summer now. Wait time can be an issue, but this visit just fell short. The service is always super helpful and accommodating. It was the meal that fell short for the second time in a row. Ordered a very boiler plate Farmer’s breakfast. I was loving the smoked gouda grits, but the grits were again runny and not that appealing. The bacon was overcooked, and I learned that I am not a big fan of the thinly sliced sourdough toast. (It’s only one slice cut in half to begin with). The eggs were fine, and I do love their signature hot sauce. My wife’s Eggs Benedict was “just ok”, so a disappointing visit since this is back to back lackluster experience. We’ll be back, we may just explore a few other options before we do.

This IS a MUST try!!! All types of coffees and even with or without liquor. I ordered that sandwich and it was amazing what I actually meant for them to do but I did not tell them so that was my fault was to replace the ham with the salmon but the sandwich was awesome I sat at the bar because it was just myself and the waitress at the bar was amazing!! Everyone was very nice and the server was very knowledgeable about things that I asked about and if she didn't know she went and found out so I love that part pricing is reasonable for one person unless you got greedy like me I ordered one of their hot coffees just to try it that was the one with the cute little design on it and then I tried one with spirits in it and it was amazing!!! So go try something different people!! 💜

Cute coffee shop in downtown Birmingham. Serving fancy lattes and other caffeinated (and non) beverages. Delicious pastries, bagels and other breakfast goodies. Nice atmosphere, friendly service. Better than the coffee at your hotel- I can guarantee that. Lisa Steele Author of The Fresh Eggs Daily Cookbook

I heard amazing things about frothy monkey and was not disappointed. The host and waiters were nice and inviting. Was able to get seated straight away and the food came out quickly. I enjoyed their omelette with a a side of toast.
